From Oct 23rd thru Nov 15th, 2009 , Three Apples – the exhibition celebrating 35 years of Hello Kitty will be held @ Royal/T space in Culver City Arts District. This was a staple iconic growing up, with a younger sister, having random girlfriends into HK, and now having a daughter that is also into HK. Ha, and I remember all those visits to Sanrio, the HK superstore. I had a chance to come out to the show a few times and gathered up some of the photos of my overall experience of the show. I missed out on the VIP first night, but got to come check it out last night with friends that are involved in the show like Peekaboo Monster and Angry Woebots. They did the meet and greet portion of the show with live painting and the art than gets auctioned off for charity. Also brought my daughter out to enjoy and get hooked up with mad Hello Kitty treats. She even got like 13 autographs from artist that is featured in the Hello Kitty ArtBook/Catalog. I was fortunate to get quick print job for few hundred tees to be for the customers to get there own custom printed tee at the show by LA’s own Hit & Run Crew. Big ups to Jaime (Japan LA) and Vance for their hard work in curating the art show and hooking me up. You all grinding, and I see you. The show is one of the dopest I’ve been since Banksy’s. Theres only a few days left of the viewing, so get out there if you can. Peace and say Hello to the Kittys!!

If I look back into this history of this event it has to stretch over a decade of Smokeouts. I remember doing my first booth at the first one. I sometimes cant believe how old I am and still doing these shows. This time around I had mixed emotions going into this because of my situation and position I couldn’t pull thru to get a booth this year. Fortunately when your in the business you know others so you can somewhat run game still. So I resorted back to my jar hustle to put a little something in my pocket. Although I did have fun but it does get old fast especially for 2 days. There was also acts like Goodie Mob, Geto Boys, Meth & Red.. I was suppose to film but just got plain lazy from all the parlaying. But here’s pics and footage I did manage to get……Big ups to GU for consistency in providing the masses with good shows!!

Aaahh……finally the release of the battle I went to but missed this main bout. Thank god, we have recorded technology so I wasnt sweating it. Although it would’ve been nice to be in the front like a sardine and watch that shit live and in stereo!! In March of 1980 two young rappers from los angeles appeared on the “Chikara Kurahashi Hit Station” variety show in Tokyo. It was the first time rap music had ever been performed in Asia and here is the lost tape of that performance. Things do come to life when something like a All American cartoon icon is finally baring all!! In the November months issue of Playboy zine, features the first in cartoon mom we all grew up on along with her grouchy obnoxious husband Homer and the kids as well. I see how moms all across the nation want to try to up keep that sassy and sexyness in them. But Marge must got a nice offer because that bitch is old as fuck.. I really dont know how to feel about it but to appreciate the connection between the Simpsons and that America has and roll with it. One of the reasons coming out to the walk was to touch base and celebrate the homie over at Soulful Commandoe’s store bday as well. We was parlaying since we made the move down there. We got there to the store kinda early so I ventured off to other galleries and parties to shoot pics for my blog. By the time I returned…the store was poppin!!
