It’s been a minute since I seen Madlib perform as he’s not one to really be in front of the stage. He’s more of the geniuses behind the boards and production. Being one of my favorite producer of our time and generation, I support every project dude has dropped from the early on days of the LootPack, Quasimoto, Blue Note, Beat Konducta, MadVillian, and few others. Raised and coming from the city of Oxnard, the northern section of LA he’s carrying Stonethrow Records to new limits. The talented Beat Konducta will once again prove to me and many others that make it out tonight that he’s definitely the illest musician on the left coast.

My lady friend took me here for lunch and lets just say, Im very impressed with this food establishment. The menu and food options is ideal of what I would like to offer if I ever had the chance to dab into food biz!

Just got word that the last and final Rootdown was going on and unfortunately coming to a end. 12 years believe it or not, and without the backbone of the fam who basically set off the weekly every Thursday along with Loslito, Miles, Wolf and the rest of the Breakestra band which will forever rep and remember….DJ Dusk!! A lot of the souls and supporters of the Rootdown gathered one last time to celebrate the legacy of Rootdown as the funkiest and hippest spot to be on Thursday night. From the days of Gabah to Little Temple, concluding their run here @ El Cid. Here’s to 12 years of soul clapping memories!!

Mixmaster Wolf and the Birthday Girl

Its that time of year and my daughter had a Christmas recital going on right before she breaks for Christmas vacation. I made my way out to my old junior high school where she now attends to participate and support her concert. Shes been actively playing the violin for over a year now. I must say that Im very proud of her wanting to learn how to play an instrument. Nowadays, she’s kinda seeing thats its a nerdy or geeky thing to be in band, but its only gonna better your experience in playing instruments and most importantly…to create music.

Since I first discovered this young energetic lady whos ill with those lashed up chicas around the City of Angels. Better known as Sand Oner straight outta East LA. For the past few years, Ive seen her hustle escalate faster than I see my own homies. Now thats a shame, but shes a prime example what a true hustler is. From window painting, to fresh custom purses, she’s spraying her way thru nationwide and about to spread Mundial…!! Im staying down forever with this dude….Carter hailing from Houston by the way of sunny LA. Rapping his way thru with likes of Pac Div, Dom Kennedy, and even Bun B from UGK. My mans Adik and I managed to get there on some late stoner time shit and by the time I made it to the open bar, my dude Mario whos bartending poured me the last drips of vodka and cranberry that didnt even fill my cup a quarter full. Knowing we had to get drank in us, we trekked up and down Fairfax then finally settled for 7-11 when we couldnt find dick!! Being ghetto fabulous we sipped our tall cans down the backside alley of Melrose strolling back to the party. Finally got there at the tailend and knew I had to get some flicks in so here some moments from last night. We also made the long overdue visit to the DUB club after to cap our night off. Johnny Clarke was performing so its was poppin!!
